After contacting me we'll make a first appointment. During this session, we meet, you share what brings you to therapy or what you would like to change. I listen, ask questions and clarify what's been bugging you. We decide what to work on and set the course.

What you bring:
What's stressing you?
Your background & context.
What would you like to change?
Your therapist:
Listens and helps define the problem.
Identifying opportunities for change.
Supports, challenges, and gives feedback.
Choices for change:
Changing beliefs, relationships, environments, & behaviour.
Processing feelings and memories.
Creating helpful structure, routine, habits.
Therapy is collaborative and ongoing. We work together and adapt as needed.
Therapy can be like taking public transport to reach our destination. Sometimes there is a direct line to where we want to go. Other times we need to stop and change direction, unexpectedly catch a train or compete the city loop via tram a couple of times before getting off and walking the last stretch. The important part is to keep an eye on where you want to be and doing the work to get there.

Hi, I'm Werner Briedenhann, a clinical psychologist who works with men facing every day problems. From anger and frustration to anxiety and depression. Our problems are often connected and sometimes we need input from outside. Talking helps.
